About This Spot

Nestled on a quiet stretch of Via Sant’Ottavio, just a gentle stroll from the banks of the Po, La Piola di Alfredo invites you into an intimate setting where time slows and the warmth of Piedmontese hospitality unfolds naturally. The rhythm here feels unhurried but alive, a welcoming pause from the city’s hum, where familiar faces and genuine smiles create a quietly convivial experience.

Walking through the door, you’re met with a space that balances rustic charm with a subtle chicness—nothing is rushed, yet the service hums along with thoughtful attentiveness. It’s the kind of place where locals drop by for a relaxed meal that feels both grounding and special, and where newcomers are gently wrapped into the fabric of Torino’s culinary traditions.

The heart of La Piola di Alfredo is the kitchen’s love letter to its Piedmontese roots. Here, dishes are not just served but thoughtfully shared moments: the richly soulful taste of a slow-braised Barbera-infused stew, the delicate pleasure of hand-folded agnolotti, and the comforting warmth of gnocchi bathed in melted tome cheese and fragrant sausage. Each bite carries the rhythm of place—deep, layered, and familiar.

Beyond the food, there’s a subtle celebration of connection—the way staff manage to be both warmly professional and effortlessly friendly, how the pace invites conversation to linger and plates to be savored long after the last forkful. This is a corner of Torino where you feel distinctly seen, where the city’s culinary stories are quietly told through generous hospitality and authentic flavors.

Whether it’s a midday respite or an evening gathering, La Piola di Alfredo offers an experience that lingers, not through loud declarations but in the simple, shared pleasures of good company and carefully crafted food in a place that feels like a local secret you’ll want to keep returning to.

The restaurant is sited in a quite street near the river Po. It serves typical Piemontese food of good quality and reasonable prices. Service was good as well. We stopped for a good lunch and were very satisfied.

Our local friends explained to us that this place served typical Torino regional dishes & everything was delicious. I wish I could remember the names of the dishes. Their service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was funky/chic. Not too expensive.

Fabulous food and service. They squeezed me in on a busy weekend evening despite being fully booked. The menu was great to the point it was difficult to choose. Service was really friendly and especially forgiving of my lack of Italian. When I left tons of people were waiting outside for a table which is a great sign.
